Fantastic Getaway!!! Everything about this cabin is outstanding, and our family was impressed with significant comforts on each floor, both indoors and outside! Starting from the top, I compliment the owners of this beautiful vacation home with hitting the sweet spot on all critical aspects of a relaxing cabin set-up. Loft - The open-air loft is beautiful, with windows that frame some spectacular views of the trees on this secluded property – it was a great way to wake-up on vacation. There is a "secret" playroom (complete with a table and two chairs for crafting/coloring) that is stocked with toys and books for the kids. During meal-prep, this secure play area was great for the little ones to entertainment themselves. Also, as the sun comes-up in the morning, enjoying a cup of coffee from the swing on a private balcony overlooking the mountain range was very peaceful. Main Floor – With a large dining table and open kitchen/living layout, the whole family enjoyed each other’s company with plenty of space to relax after a long trail hike or a day on the river. The fireplace is such a nice centerpiece for this space, and there is plenty of seating for everyone. Having a pantry was really nice, and the washer/dryer was handy after some extreme adventures on the mountain!!! The jetted bath tub was a great treat, and even the kids wanted to get clean! The outdoor Jacuzzi tub was also very popular, and placement allowed for optimal viewing of the mountains in the evenings. Once the citronella candles were burning, this became a stress-free relaxation zone!!! While the hot tub sat 5 adults comfortably, those not interested in getting wet had plenty of seating in the rocking chairs to enjoy the same view and conversation. Lower Level – For the competitive folks in our group, shooting pool on a Brunswick pool table, with leather pockets and new felt was such a great time! Other activities included foosball, a Sony PlayStation and several video games to choose from. Along with lots of movies to watch, there was also an excellent selection of board games – and once we came across the poker set all bets were off!!! It was always nice and cool in the game-room, and the bedroom was very quiet and comfortable. Having a desk in the bedroom with a comfortable chair was also really nice. The game room has direct access to the driveway and steps leading down to the lower swing and picnic area, and this additional entryway made for easy loading and unloading. Everything from the craftsmanship of the cabin down to the pure water filtration system was first class, and I cannot wait to get back on vacation!!! The Niedfeldt’s

Fabulous location. Very close to all the activities & the view is breathtaking!!We had a awesome time horseback riding, zip lining, rafting the middle & upper Ocoee. So much entertainment from the games, movies, relaxing in the hot tub * cooking s'mores over the campfire. Sit back & relax in the rocking chair while you listen to the subtle sound of the wilderness. It was a perfect trip!!!!

Everything in this exclusive cabin is five star. From the hot tub on the deck overlooking the Blue Mountains to the pool table in the games room this is a place to relax and get some down time. The local cuisine is great and don't miss Mercer's, a wonderful local orchard/bakery. If you need some time away, Bear Ridge Hideaway will not disappoint.

I've been to many mountain cabins (as this is my preferred vacation destination), but this one was my favorite. The cabin is beautiful and secluded with unbelievable views, but the roads leading up to it are well-kept and easily travelled via 2-wheel drive. Besides being a great cabin with a beautiful view, the cabin also is perfectly located. Everything you could possibly want is within 10-45 minutes: quaint towns, good dining, creeks/rivers/waterfalls, national forests and parks, etc. I unfortunately ran out of time and had to go back to the real world. I will be back as soon as I can though.

This place is gorgeous! My family owns a cabin nearby, but it was not available the weekend we headed up to McCaysville, so we rented Bear Ridge. We were blown away! The kitchen is stocked with all dishes and utensils you could need. Lots of games downstairs in play room. Each of the 3 rooms are on their own floor with their own bathroom. When first arrived, the A/C was out due to an electrical storm. They had a repairman at the cabin within an hour and it was fixed within 2 hours. What more could you ask for! We can't wait to go back!

Every year for the past three, my tribe has made the long drive up from Florida to escape the rat race and mellow out for a week of peace and quiet. There is nothing quite like the porch swing with a hot cup of coffee watching the morning unfold as the birds begin the day. Having sleeping quarters on three separate floors, allows the late risers to sleep in while we early birds can read a book or take a hike before breakfast. This cabin is just four miles from shopping, but it is up the ridge and a secluded hide-a-way where you won't be found unless you want to be. It is a lodge with everything that you need for comfort.

Our family loves escaping to this cabin! With a bedroom and bathroom on every floor, there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and plenty of activities for both the children and adults. My kids love the hidden playroom in the loft and my husband loves the pool table and game room on the first floor. The large back porch is the perfect place to relax with a hot cup of tea in a wood rocker and stare out into those beautiful mountains. When you have had enough relaxing, it is never far to find a hiking trail, waterfall or creek to spend the day at. We make the trip to these mountains every year or two for the white water rafting on the Ocoee river and this cabin is literally just minutes from one of the outfitters and also very close to the Ocoee Whitewater Center where you can picnic and watch the rafters navigate some of the country's toughest whitewater. This is a fabulous vacation destination and a beautiful, serene cabin to enjoy it from!

It is a great log cabin with wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms with rustic furniture. The place is very clean. If you find yourself there on a rainy day, there is still fun things to do in the cabin with Foosball and pool table. Old Nintendo games for the memory plus DVD movies and books. Not to mention board games and cards too. Otherwise you have all those hiking trails to check out and the river. The towns are also fun to check out too to eat and shopping. There is really no need to go anywhere once you arrive at the cabin with food for you can BBQ in the fire pit below the cabin and just enjoy the tri-states views from the porch and the breezes. Or just cook in the modern kitchen. I enjoy the 3 miles loop private gravel road that you can walk around from the cabin for your morning or evening walk. The owner has materials at the cabin of all the things that you can do while you are there. I had a great time while I was there and would go again.

Big Bear hideaway is my absolute favorite getaway. Visiting from a big city it provides everything you could want in a much needed vacation from the city. Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains, you have limitless options for nature hikes, white water rafting, waterfall visits, kayaking, or just have a backyard fire down at the fire pit. You'll often find yourself letting the day slip away tubing down the Taccoa river or visiting all the friendly shop owners in McCaysville. The cabin is cozy yet spacious and offers tone of entertainment within its self. A playroom filled with a pool table, foosball, air hockey and many other games will give even the most competitive family a run for their money. This is place you'll visit once and be thinking about all year long. Thank you Big Bear Getaway for the memories.

We spent a wonderful vacation at this cozy cabin nestled in the Georgia mountains. What a killer view from the balcony! Three floors were a wonderful surprise and the decor was gorgeous. Anyone who stays at this cabin won't want to leave!

Enjoyed a friends weekend with the owners. The log cabin is immaculate and well appointed with hard wood throughout. The beds are comfy and the views are spectacular. Lots to do. We hiked to Turtle Falls (when we finally found the road to turn onto), shopping in McCaysville and Blue Ridge, relaxing in the rockers on the porch rain or shine and lots of cards with our card playing buddy who can never get enough! The river rafting on the Ocoee is a must (whether you raft or spectate). Can't wait to do it again! Thanks Jim and Deb!!!
